Following the launch of the new XC60, the UK media last week had a chance to drive the car on UK roads receiving very positive reviews from across the board:
“The Swedes strike all the right chords with a beautifully crafted interior, a range of powerful engines and a luxury SUV that takes everything in its stride.” Motoring.co.uk
“What stood out was the vehicle's amazing array of safety features. These include Oncoming Lane Mitigation which provides steering assistance if you unwittingly veer out of your lane. And the vehicle even tells you to brake if you are approaching a hazard.
“Altogether a very special Volvo and one which demonstrates that German brands and Britain's Jaguar have not got it all their own way in the world of mid-sized SUVs.” Eurekar
“Volvo has to be applauded for continuing to keep its brand so unique and a viable choice that stands out in a very crowded sector. If it were me, I’d take this over the German opposition, and even the F-Pace, which I never thought I’d say.” Goodwood Road and Racing
“The Volvo is certainly a very capable car, with strong performance, a high standard of finish and a practical cabin.” Practical Caravan
“The fit and finish of the car is absolutely spot-on, they’ve really done a thorough job with the XC60 and the most minute details certainly add to the sense that this is a car from the top of the market.” Regit
“The Volvo XC60 is more than just a smaller version of the award-winning XC90 – although that’s no bad thing. It takes a more comfort-oriented approach than its rivals, while the quality and tech on offer leads the class. It’s pricier than before, but then Volvo is now playing in a different league. The XC60 is another car that confirms the Volvo’s place among the world’s premium brands.” Auto Express (UK review from before the launch)
The positive reviews come after the XC60 was awarded the title of ‘Best Premium SUV’ in the Auto Express Awards in June.
