For motoring peace of mind.
Your fleet is one of the many cogs that keep your business running; if one of your vehicles grinds to a halt, then your business could do too. We’re committed to keeping your fleet on the road, so we provide you with the support you need with warranties you can rely on.
All newly purchased Volkswagen vehicles are covered for the first two years after being driven off the forecourt. No matter how many miles your employees drive.
Your vehicle is then eligible for a third year of cover as long as you haven’t exceeded 60,000 miles. If you have exceeded 60,000 miles then your warranty will not be extended to a third year. However, there are mileage and warranty extensions you can purchase if you do exceed the 60,000 mile limit, so you can always find vehicle cover for that extra peace of mind.
During those first three years (or two if you’ve exceeded 60,000 miles), your vehicle is covered for any defect in manufacture or workmanship. Once you’ve brought these defects to our attention then a member of the Volkswagen authorised network will carry out the necessary work for you – completely free of charge.
Here are some points to keep in mind regarding your warranty:
Your warranty cover will only increase to a third year if:
This warranty will automatically terminate either on the anniversary of the third year from the date of original registration, or when you hit 60,000 miles; whichever comes first.
Many people like the peace of mind that comes with a warranty, so if you’d like to extend yours beyond the three years then you can. All you have to do is extend it before the vehicle reaches 60,000 miles.
Not every part and fitting in your Volkswagen is covered for the same length of time as others. Many items can be damaged by wear and tear or just aren’t supposed to last for years on end for safety reasons. Consequently, we only cover the following items for 6 months or 6,250 miles; whichever comes first.
Filters, gaskets, lubricants and sundry items are only accepted as part of a valid repair.
What happens if you travel abroad within the first two years of your warranty?
If your vehicle requires a repair when you're travelling abroad then you can still receive this free of charge – as long as the fault falls under the terms of your warranty.
All you have to do is visit a member of the Volkswagen authorised network in the country that you’re visiting and they will carry out the work for you. Make sure you take your car’s service schedule with you so they can make the repairs with all the necessary information to hand.
The only difference once you enter into your third year is that you will need to cover the cost of the repair yourself before making a claim for reimbursement with your local retailer.
Any parts that we replace in your vehicle are then covered for two years from the date of purchase. There are some parts that are covered for longer, however we’ll notify you of those when they’re installed.
The two year warranty does not apply to parts fitted under the terms of the vehicle warranty, which are warranted for the remaining period of the vehicle warranty.
As long as your accessories have been approved, supplied and fitted by a member of the Volkswagen authorised network then they’ll also be covered for two years from the date of purchase.
Some items, such as Road Angel, only have one year’s warranty. To find out more information about which accessories are exempt from the two years, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to advise.
If you install an accessory that isn’t approved by Volkswagen, then you’ll need to clarify the terms of its warranty with the manufacturer of that accessory. However, if an approved accessory has been fitted at the pre-delivery inspection, then it will be covered by the full term of the manufacturer’s warranty.
We want your vehicle to look flawless at all times, which is why your paintwork is covered for three years from the date of registration.
The terms of this warranty are:
For stress fractures, the length of cover is 12 months or 10,000 miles; whichever comes first. However, if a specific manufacturing defect is found, such as air bubbles in a laminated windscreen, then the three year warranty will be applied. The warranty will not cover damage as a result of external influence, such as stone chips.
The last thing any of us want is rust attacking the inside cavity of our vehicles. That’s why all Volkswagens are fully protected against this for 12 years from the date of registration. However, if you have a Sharan then this cover lasts for 6 years.
The conditions of this warranty are:
Any work that’s been carried out by a member of the Volkswagen authorised network comes with a warranty for all repairs and servicing for 12 months or 12,000 miles; whichever comes first.
We do our best to ensure the work carried out is to the highest standard, however if further work is still required then it will of course be done free of charge.
The conditions of this warranty are:
When your original three year warranty has expired, you can purchase an extended warranty for continued peace of mind. There are plenty of options to choose from depending on the age, engine size and mileage of your car, so no matter what you will find a level of cover that suits you.
If your vehicle is still within the original three year warranty and is under 60,000 miles, then you can add an extra 12 months of the warranty and Roadside Assistance cover to take effect as soon as the original warranty expires.
Depending on how many miles you cover, you can pick from either the unlimited mileage option or the 15,000 mileage option.
In this situation, it’s best to buy a mileage top-up. This will provide unlimited mileage cover during the remaining period of the year. You also have the option of extending the period of cover by a further 12 months when you purchase the top-up. We recommend you registering for this while you’re still within your warranty period as it gives you the best available cover.
If your vehicle is more than three years old it’s still possible to extend your warranty to protect yourself from unforeseen repair and costs. Even if you currently have no warranty applied to your Volkswagen, cover is still available. Talk to a member of the Volkswagen authorised network to discuss the levels of cover available to you.
