Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles claimed two top accolades at the What Van? Awards 2020, including the Best Medium Van title for the T6.1 and the Used Van of the Year award for the Transporter.
The awards are judged by a panel of What Van? editors as well as residual value specialists, industry consultants and journalists.
Presenting the T6.1 with its Medium Van of the Year award, What Van? Editor James Dallas said: “The Transporter is a legendary van and with the T6.1 Volkswagen has improved an already outstanding product.This latest iteration boasts outstanding design features, the latest in engine technology and safety kit, low cost of ownership, the support of an excellent dealer network and, of course, an undeniably strong heritage.”
The T6.1 brings the Transporter, whose story began a full 70 years ago, right up to date for the new decade with a number of safety, tech and comfort enhancements.Order books opened in October, with first deliveries due in January.
Proving its longevity, the Transporter also retained its title as Used Van of the Year. James Dallas said: “Enduring class, rock-solid build quality and unbeatable residual values make the Transporter a worthy winner.”
