Jaguar F-PACE: Models & Editions

04/09/2020

There is an increasing tendency amongst vehicle manufacturers to broaden their range, offer all things to all people, in the hope that they gain a customer for life; supermini for the singletons looking for a great city car, through to large SUVs for families with their own 5-aside football team in tow.

Traditionally, Jaguar have never been a run-of-the-mill car manufacturer, and their ethos is more about quality than quantity, which means (thankfully) they’ve avoided the route to diluting their product into every market possible. They’re not ‘exclusive’ by any means, but you won’t be tripping over them.

With that said, they did take the decision to enter the world of Sports Utility Vehicles in 2015, which at first thought seems like quite a radical departure from their traditional sports cars or luxury saloons, but it made perfect sense; luxury SUVs gave them the opportunity to show off their engineering prowess and ability.

Jaguar F-PACE

With six different variants on offer, ranging from 180PS (177 Bhp) right through to 550PS (542 Bhp), and small, economical diesel engines, to the brute of a supercharged V8 petrol engine, Jaguar have once again proven their mettle (and metal!).

R-Sport

Assertive sporting style with an exterior sports trim and specialised sport seats.

Portfolio

The pinnacle of F PACE luxury – elegant, sophisticated and with a myriad of cutting-edge technologies.

S

For impressive performance, choose the 3.0 litre V6 300PS Twin Turbocharged Diesel.

300 Sport

Sporting personality, accentuated with striking details. F PACE 300 SPORT exemplifies individuality.

Chequered Flag

Built on thrilling design and sophisticated styling, F-PACE Chequered Flag captures the essence of a racing bloodline.

SVR

With a 550PS engine, F PACE SVR has been engineered for sheer power, exhilaration and a 0-60mph time of 4.1 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds).

Luxury Abounds

As you might expect from Jaguar, the F-PACE is extremely well packaged. Starting with the R-Sport, which comes with tech such as Navigation Pro, Connect Pro, front & rear parking aid, rear camera, powered tailgate and Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

But if you’re looking for something with a little more … extra … then choosing one of the editions will see you with all manner of technology and rich features. Take the Chequered Flag edition for example:

F-PACE Chequered Flag

A choice of four different engines – three diesel and one petrol, with as much as 250PS available (yet still returns over an average of 30 MPG), a host of safety tech including emergency braking, driver condition monitor, lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition, and then we have the ‘Chequered Flag’ extras.

These include the ‘Black Pack’, with Gloss Black roof rails, 5 spilt-spoke Gloss Black alloy wheels, fixed panoramic roof, Gloss Black side vents, perforated grained leather 10-way electrically adjustable front seats, meshed aluminium trim finishers, Navigation Pro, Connect Pro, Meridian sound system, and smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Chequered Flag edition represents all things that are Jaguar: luxury, sophistication, and power, with a little mean and moody styling. Jaguar to a tee.

Choosing F-PACE

Despite highlighting the Chequered Flag, the reality is that if you’re in the market for a full-size SUV, any of the F-PACE models or editions will work for you. They offer an unrivalled feeling of luxury, combined with Jaguar’s pedigree of producing some of the finest sports cars that the world has ever seen, all backed up with the reassurance that it has been engineered by Jaguar, and after all, that’s what Jaguar started with – a solid foundation in engineering.

This is not just another SUV, nor is it a dilution of their brand, this is Jaguar ‘grandstanding’ their capability. All credit to them.
