Airbag module recall

DO YOU OWN A BMW 3 SERIES BUILT BETWEEN 1998 AND 2006 (MODEL VARIANT E46), A BMW 5 SERIES BUILT BETWEEN 1996 AND 2003 (MODEL VARIANT E39) OR A BMW X5 BUILT BETWEEN 2000 AND 2006 (MODEL VARIANT E53)?

If you do then it’s likely that your car is included in the current safety recall campaign issued by BMW UK that requires the above mentioned variants to have the front airbag modules checked and in all likelihood replaced. This action has come about following ongoing product analysis at the factory where it has been determined that atmospheric conditions may affect the performance of the airbag safety system that provides driver and/or passenger airbag activation.

We would like to assure local owners of the above mentioned BMW model variants that their cars are in perfect working order by checking the appropriate modules and replacing them in most cases.

The safety recall check and any corrective work required will of course be completed free of charge.
