Westerly customers from across our five locations recently enjoyed the Westerly Golf Day, this year held at the fantastic Exeter Golf and Country Club.
The annual competition not only allowed us to treat our customers to a round of golf in the glorious Devon sunshine at one of county's finest courses but also acts as a regional qualifier for the BMW Golf Cup International.
The day began with breakfast proceeded by a shotgun start for the 18-hole stableford competition and ended with a 2-course dinner and presentation. The course was in great condition, especially given the long dry spell, and was matched by some great scores. Congratulations to Andrew Thronton (37 points), David Rajakovich (42 points), Samantha Hill (37 points) and Sam Rockey (38 points) who were victorious on the day and qualified to represent Westerly in the BMW Golf Cup International regional final at Bearwood Lakes.
The BMW Golf Cup International, now in its 37th year, is the largest and one of the most successful global golf series for amateurs. With over 100,000 participants worldwide, the climax of the 2017 tournament took place in South Africa with 50 nations competing for the coveted team title. The United Kingdom tournament consists of seven geographically spread Regional Finals held at some of the most prestigious golf courses in the UK and culminates with a two-day National Final in St Andrews.
