Skoda arrives at Truscotts in Helston
On November 1, Truscotts Skoda, on Meneage Street in Helston, opened its doors as an authorised repairer and parts distributor for Skoda vehicles. The new Skoda dealership, which will see at least half a dozen jobs created in the local area and a £500,000 investment over the next six months, will bring Skodas to the most southerly tip of the UK.
Between Truscotts and its sister garage Carrs Skoda, in Indian Queens, the brand’s servicing and parts will now be easily accessible across the whole of the South West.
Truscotts Skoda will open as a full sales retailer next year, offering the full range of fantastic Skoda cars to customers in Cornwall. The dealership, established in 1992, is already well-known in the area with Peugeot and now will operate as a double franchise. Jesse Clift, general manager at the dealership said: “We’re extremely excited about bringing Skoda to the South West. Skoda has had an amazing year, winning awards and even setting a new speed record in Bonneville over the summer, so we’re certain this new franchise will be a fantastic investment for Truscotts and for the Helston area. We see ourselves as a local business, so we truly feel that our success means success for the community too.”

This year, Skoda received 25 top awards including Top Gear Luxury Car of the Year for Superb Estate, AutoExpress Car of the Year for Yeti and Which Car Award for the Best Car Manufacturer. Last month the Skoda Superb was awarded Best Estate Car 2011 by Diesel Car magazine.
