Introduced in 2009, Land Rover’s fourth-generation SUV is an entirely revamped version of the celebrated Discovery series of four-wheel drives. Major mechanical changes have been made, with a new and more advanced 3.0-litre engine giving the driver power output of 225hp and reducing CO2 emissions by 10%. At the same time, four-corner electronic air suspension ensures class-leading handling, even in difficult terrain.
A great deal of research has gone into making the Discovery 4 one of the safest and most secure cars on the road. A number of advanced safety features, for the protection of both occupants and other road users, come as standard. These include a central high-mounted stop lamp for added visibility, eight airbags, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Traction Control, and Trailer Stability Assist.
Meanwhile, the Discovery 4 boasts a variety of safeguards against vandalism or theft, such as passive engine immobilisation and an intrusion and perimetric alarm system. A removable loadspace cover also hides luggage or cargo from view, meaning that potential thieves are deterred.
