Overview of role

We are a Land Rover main dealer based in Yeovil and part of the successful Helston Garage Group. In January 2017 we opened our new Showroom to the latest Land Rover CI.

We are now looking for an experienced Sales Manager to take responsibility for running all aspects of the Sales department.

Key Tasks

  • Develop sales action plans to ensure sales and profitability targets are achieved
  • Formulate sales targets for each sales team member and support them to achieve
  • Communicate clearly, regularly and promptly with the Head of Business, Used Car Manager, Business manager and the sales team.
  • Ensure all car stock, new and used, is sold at a profit which achieves an acceptable return on stock investment
  • Maintain the agreed annual rate of stock turnover, linking stock levels and availability to sales levels
  • Ensure the sales team have full knowledge and understanding of product, promotional and marketing activities.
  • Consult with customers to establish their needs, resolve any complaints professionally and calmly
  • Formulate and implement marketing plans for new car launches, initiate and implement used car sales promotions
  • Measure departmental sales performance, credit and finance commission, outstanding debtor information weekly and take the appropriate action to ensure targets are being met
  • Analyse current procedures and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate clearly, regularly and promptly with the customers.
  • Improve customer satisfaction by developing and implementing a strategy with the sales team

Being Commercial

Uses the dealerships information systems effectively to make commercial decisions. Identifie additional revenue activities or cost savings. Demonstrate commercial judgement when authorising a transaction that is outside the agreed profitability levels.

Set SMART objectives and clearly communicate plans and priorities to your team. Ensures appropriate resources are used to achieve the workload and deliver targets. Respond positively to conflicting demands.
